Project Overview
Envisioned as phase one of a multi-phase project to enhance Top Taggart Field, IDS was tasked with designing a new student housing building abutting the north end zone. This new four-story 282 bed residence hall is being built to provide a unique experience for incoming students. With a near equal amount of rooms facing north back to campus and facing south into the stadium students will have a unique experience depending on which room they are in. And while those experience may be unique, all students will have a way to experience both connections to campus.
A series of lounges on each level are positioned looking back to the north of campus and are available to all student residents. Another group of lounges located on the second, third, and fourth floors are centered on the end zone giving students a viewing perspective unmatched in the GLIAC. Rounding out the uniqueness to this new building is a first floor lounge that will open up to a future patio extending out to the end zone creating perfect tailgating opportunities for students at home games. And while the primary focus of this experience was for FSU students, six hotel rooms on the first floor give visitors an opportunity to experience the community that will be affectionately known as the “Dawg House”.
