Biography

Bryan believes that architecture is the blending of art and science. Bryan has always gravitated toward the technical side of architecture and loves the details of a building, how it all goes together and the science of construction. When starting a project, Bryan is methodical in his thought process. He begins every project by meeting with the project team to get a broad overview of the design. The process is what leads to Bryan’s sense of accomplishment when seeing what he has developed being translated into a physical reality. Before becoming a specification writer Bryan was a project architect and studied architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology where he met his wife who is also an Architect. He was one of the last students to complete the Bauhaus-inspired curriculum designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

Outside of work he is a current member of BSD SpecLink’s Specification Content and User Experience Advisory Committee, volunteer reviewer for the next Construction Specifications Practice Guide, authored by the Construction Specifications Institute, and an annual judge for the Metropolitan Detroit CSI Chapter, Hobson Scholarship awarded to Lawrence Technological University students for specification writing. During his career, he has proven that some of his strongest attributes are being technical, meticulous, methodical in his thought process, self-directed, and a problem-solver. Whether he is working on a K-12 or Commercial project you know that the job will be completed with the greatest amount of thought and technical dedication.
