Katy is driven by the way architecture impacts how people experience the world around them and the impact that the built environment can make on a person’s life. She sees every challenge as an opportunity to create something amazing. Architecture is about the experience, not merely the stylized facade. Through the built environment, she believes we can improve people’s lives. This philosophy has led Katy to a deep-rooted commitment to educational design – particularly in Higher Education. “The impact that academic spaces can have on a student’s life is what drives my design practice – its foundation being based on my own experience and the impact that a dedication to learning has had on my life.” Through innovative and engaging design, architecture has the ability to inspire students to achieve greatness and shape the world around them. “I want to help them make great things happen! The idea that something that I do can have a positive impact on someone else’s life is what drives me to push myself further on every project.”

Katy lives her life with a passion that is infused in all of the projects that she collaborates in. “We continue to learn all through our lives, the most notable example of that is in the workplace. The world is ever-changing, we have to constantly re-evaluate how we work and adapt to the ever changing needs.” Katy is inspired by the constant shift in how people work and the balance of traditional concepts with new innovations to make design meaningful and inspiring.
